In 2019 Index began a new strand – Research Processes. These research processes are our tools to define other temporalities. The goal is to establish areas of investigation inviting artists and other practitioners to work without a starting plan or objective. Moments of visibility are being defined together. From workshops to seminars, from publications to idea-exhibitions; sometimes it’s important not to start with rules or plans in order to be able to define what could be possible to do. The Research Processes facilitate deep discussions on specific matters.
This space of the website is also a way to follow other unfolding research at Index.
Research Process: Rubén Grilo (2021)
Rubén Grilo’s work involves the use of a wide variety of media, from animation to sculpture. Often heterogeneous, his pieces stem from an interest in exploring subjectivity as a commonplace, confronting individual experience with the pressure exerted by technology.
