Index 19: Lisa Trogen Devgun and Katarina Nord

29 June 2016, 19:00–22:00

Index 19 is happy to present CARE/CARRY/CONTAIN, a collaborative work by Stockholm-based artists Lisa Trogen Devgun and Katarina Nord.

The work, on display for one night in Index’ front space, originates from Devgun’s interest in global logistics, especially in standardized containers that are used to transport goods, but are not present in the everyday commercial sphere themselves, and Nord’s work that is placed within the intimate sphere of the home. Centering on a recent gift from Nord’s grandmother, the artists produced a collaborative work investigating their shared interest in the overlooked fields of care, carrying and containers.

Katarina Nord (b. 1983) works with video art and installations, with a main interest in perception, embodiment and aesthetic hierarchies. She completed her BFA at Konstfack in 2015. Recent exhibitions include LOOP – A Video Art Marathon, Galleri CC, Malmö, and Escaping Space, Fullersta Gård. http://www.katarinanord.se

Lisa Trogen Devgun (b. 1984) works with ready-mades and installations. Her artistic practice takes its starting point in the function and aesthetics of logistics, where she focuses on what she sees as the pure beauty of packaging and shipping products. She completed her BFA at Konstfack in 2015. Recent exhibitions include Friends in Need, Carl Kostyál Stockholm, Swedish Art: Now!, Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum and Logistic Figures, Galleri Belenius/Nordenhake. http://lisatrogendevgun.tumblr.com

Index 19 is a weekly events series in Index’ front space. Presenting single works, films, readings and discursive events, the aim is to create a space for dialogue with our surrounding community and visitors.
