Index 19: Elizabeth Clark Wessel and Elis Burrau:

This week Index’ series of office events will continue with readings by Elizabeth Clark Wessel and Elis Burrau, two poets living in Sweden and the US, writing in Swedish and English.

Elizabeth Clark Wessel is a founding editor of Argos Books & co-editor of Circumference: Poetry in Translation. In 2015 Argos Books will publish the work of Athena Farrokhzad in the USA. Clark Wessel is the author of three chapbooks Whither Weather (GreenTower Press, 2012), Isn’t that You Waving at You (Big Lucks Books, 2015) and Amsterdam (Dancing Girl Press, 2015). Her full-length collection Two Suns is forthcoming from The Lit Pub. In 2015 Argos Books will publish the first book by Swedish writer Athena Farrokhzad in the USA. Clark Wessel lives in a farmhouse in Connecticut.

Elis Burrau is a poet and event host. At the moment he is compiling his collection of poems titled “och vi fortsatte att göra någonting rörande” (and we continued doing something touching) to be published by CL(P) Works in 2016. This will be his first physical book on a swedish publishing house; a critical game with instructions, museal childishness and sentimental abundance/serious irony. Burrau is a part of the poetry collective and journal fikssion, he is also running a Facebook/PDF publishing house Fame Factory and the blog “vi som aldrig skrev Prosa” (we who never wrote prose) together with Anna Axfors.

Index 19 is a weekly events series in Index’ front space. Presenting single works, films, readings and discursive events, the aim is to create a space for dialogue with our surrounding community and visitors. Index 19 is a flexible program initiative, with one night or returning events by international artists and Stockholm-based initiatives.
