The first segment of the public program for Harun Farocki: VIDEOGRAMME EINER REVOLUTION (2026) convenes Trond Lundemo and Martin Grennberger for a conversation on Harun Farocki’s oeuvre, with particular emphasis on the films presented in the exhibition.

Lundemo participated in the exhibition’s first iteration twenty years ago, during which he also moderated a public conversation with Farocki. Building on this historical perspective, the conversation will address Farocki’s extensive filmography, offering an in-depth examination of his working methods and his fluid movement between cinema, television, and the art exhibition context. Together, Grennberger and Lundemo will reflect on how the past two decades have consolidated Farocki’s position as a seminal figure in critical debates surrounding video art, as well as in broader discussions across film and contemporary art.

Martin Grennberger is a writer, film curator, and co-founder of the film-journal Walden. He has curated film screenings at, among others, EXiS (Experimental Film and Video Festival, Seoul), Light Industry (New York), and Moderna Museet (Stockholm).

Trond Lundemo is Professor in Cinema Studies at the Department of Media Studies, Stockholm University. His research interests include film theory, media archaeology, social memory studies and theories of the archive.

This event is part of the program connected to the exhibition Harun Farocki: VIDEOGRAMME EINER REVOLUTION.
