Welcome to the launch of OEI #82–83, as part of Index and OEI’s longstanding collaboration. The issue is guest edited by Aeron Bergman and Alejandra Salinas, who co-direct INCA Press (along with Irena Borić).
OEI #82–83 contains essays, artworks, and archival materials by twenty one artists, theorists, writers, and artist run spaces (mostly from the Americas). The subject of the issue is art and neoliberalism, and contains essays, images and other works by Dorothée Dupuis, Max Jorge Hindered Cruz, Luciano Concheiro, Yvonne Osei, Diego Bruno, John Riepenhoff, Suhail Malik, Good Weather, The Luminary, Bikini Wax, Beta-Local and more.
Bergman and Salinas will also present INCA Press, including their new book Telepathy 传心术
Aeron Bergman (Detroit, USA) and Alejandra Salinas (La Rioja, Spain) are an artist duo. They have lived in New York, Toronto, Detroit, London, Barcelona, Gothenburg, Oslo, Seattle, and currently live in Portland. Bergman and Salinas have shown work internationally at institutions such as the 4th Athens Biennale; 1st Bergen Assembly Triennial; Turku Biennial in Finland; Fundação de Serralves in Porto; Steirischer Herbst in Graz; The Luminary in St Louis; Eastside Projects in Birmingham, UK; Kunsthalle Exnergasse in Vienna; ICC Tokyo; IASPIS in Stockholm; Lincoln Center and Dumbo Art Center in New York City; e-flux Berlin; Berlin Film Festival; Center for Contemporary Art Glasgow; Edinburgh Film Festival and Dundee Contemporary Arts in Scotland; MOCA Novi Sad; Taipei Fine Art Museum; Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven; Ski Club in Milwaukee; the Poor Farm in Wisconsin; Centre George Pompidou and Palais de Tokyo in Paris; IMO and Nikolaj Kunsthal in Copenhagen; Henie Onstad Art Center, Kunstnernes Hus, and 0047 in Oslo; MUDAM Luxembourg, among others.
OEI is a Stockholm based magazine for extra-disciplinary spaces and de-disciplinizing moments – experimental forms of thinking, montages between poetry, art, philosophy, film, and documents; critical investigations, editorial enunciations, aesthetic technologies, non-affirmative writing, speculative archaeologies, new ecologies, and counter historiographies. OEI, started in 1999, has published 83 issues. The accompanying publishing structure OEI editör has released some hundred titles of investigative poetry, aesthetic documents, artist’s books, theoretical and poetological essays. As part of its publishing practice OEI has also organized numerous events: from readings, presentations, lectures and talks to seminars, film screenings and exhibitions.
