Join us on 28 February at 16:00 at Index for the release of Reaching Out: A Book on Agency, Care, Identity and… by the Index Teen Advisory Board (ITAB).

Created together with PRAKSIS Teen Advisory Board in Oslo and PUBLICS Youth Advisory Board in Helsinki, the publication approaches the book as more than an object. It becomes a way of gathering, speaking, and deciding things together.

Through workshops, editing sessions, and long conversations, the boards used publishing to organise themselves, choosing what should be said and who gets to speak. Interviews, comics, role-play manuscripts, and speculative writing move through the pages, and one section even imagines books in the year 2125. Reading appears here as a social practice: something done with others rather than alone.

Members of Index Teen Advisory Board will introduce the book and hold a conversation about their process. You are welcome to listen, ask questions, and spend time with the publication together. Limited-edition posters designed by ITAB and risograph-printed at Fantasy Printhouse will be available during the event. Exclusive to the Stockholm launch is an interview with Shanzhai Lyric by ITAB member Dylan Murray.

Reaching Out: A Book on Agency, Care, Identity and… is edited by Gerrie van Noord with Bilge Hasdemir, Tony Karlsson Savci, and Kristian Schrøder, designed by Tuukka Kaila, and published by Rooftop Press in collaboration with Index, PRAKSIS, and PUBLICS.
