Mette Edvardsen takes the idea of reading, and the memory of reading, from the dystopian situation presented by Ray Bradbury in Fahrenheit 451: the system has decided that books go against happiness and must be burnt. The exhibition presents this project by Mette Edvardsen and its process. The exhibition shares a selection of books to be memorised, the process of memorising and the temporary presence of the living books themselves to be read.

Sinziana Ravini will speak at Index in connection with the exhibition Time has fallen asleep in the afternoon sunshine. Ravini will discuss the relations between art and literature, about her favourite writers, artists and curators that work in the interstice between art and literature and the way art theory is leaving its old Kant-inspired methods behind in favour of a more fiction and affect oriented theory. The talk will be held in Swedish.
