 OVER is the joint title of the current exhibition and a mobile application by artist Sidsel Meineche Hansen. The project explores automation in contemporary working conditions. Through the production of the OVER mobile application, the artist critically examines the infrastructure and ideologies behind app-based business models, exemplified by the car service Uber. The exhibition continues until June 10.

 Art journal Oberon will launch its third issue at Index. Guest edited by Australian artist duo Nova Milne and new narrative theorist Robert Glück. Oberon is an occasional periodical that sees guest-edited sections of texts – short stories, poems, articles and long-form essays – bridged by sequences of images that both illustrate and freely associate beyond the source material of the texts.

 Applications now open for the Index summer art course for young people aged 16-21. The course will be held at Index from August 1-10 2018. During the course AND FORVER AND young artists will collectively build manifestos for liveable futures and create demands for our ecological tomorrows. Led by the Index learning team and visiting artists, the course will question how young people see the future. Applications due April 30.

 Call out now to apply for the 2018/19 Index Teen Advisory Board, offering paid positions for young people aged 16-21. The board is an integral part of Index that actively evaluates, reflects on and takes part in the development of the organization. Bringing together a group of young people with differing cultural backgrounds and life experiences, the board meets with artists and discusses the role of art and culture in society at large. Applications due April 30.

 Welcome to an evening of text-based proposals that look into the potential of the ‘Dancing Museum’. The event brings together different proposals made by students of dance from DOCH. Beginning with Boris Charmatz’ manifesto, the proposals question the many roles (disguises, habitations, uses or non-uses) of dance within (inside of, beside of, or through) a museum (gallery, or art institution).

 Expanding from the themes within the exhibition OVER, this is a workshop for humans aged 3-7 years old. In the workshop we meet a person who supposedly cannot speak, but uses her tongue in other ways. The workshop takes a phenomenological approach to pedagogics, focusing on the experiential interplay with objects that can sometimes be called art.

 Rab-Rab: Journal for Political and Formal Inquiries in Art is an independent journal published in Helsinki. As a platform for combining experimental forms of art practices with radical political positions, the aim is to encourage and promote the theoretical production outside of institutions. Rab-Rab Press will be presenting their latest issue at Index 19.

 Artist Jenny Yurshansky will be in conversation with Curator of Learning Bronwyn Bailey-Charteris to discuss her work and the recent publication of an artist edition box. The box records the 133 blacklisted alien-invasive plant species that make up this project’s collection and is the final result of four years of research including exhibitions at Kungliga Konsthögskolan, Stockholm and Pitzer College Art Galleries, Los Angeles.
