Review: LIBERATION RADIO, Paulina Sokolow, Flamman

Paulina Sokolow has written about LIBERATION RADIO for Flamman. Below is an excerpt:
“Through archival material, newly recorded versions of the radio broadcasts, and the 13-minute film created using collage techniques, art is used as a way to revisit a forgotten history that—like today’s Palestine movement—is filled with conflicts, factions, and deadlocks that leave wounds behind. The heated tone, the slang-filled, generation-specific coded language, and the demonization of dissenting comrades are all recognizable.”
“Liberation Radio is a reminder that the present shapes the future, and of how mass communication takes on new forms. Sometimes as anti-war propaganda, at other times as ‘troll factories’.”
