Workshop: When a Polar Bear Dances

These practical workshops are for gymnasium school level and art universities as part of our Schools in Residence program. Students encounter the work of the choreographer, writer and dancer Simone Forti. Entitled ‘When a Polar Bear Dances’ students are invited to participate and work collaboratively with Forti’s ground breaking dance methodologies that focus on chance, observation of animals and personal narratives. The historical context of this movement practice, including the relationship to minimalism and conceptualism, will also be explored.
