Screening: Carl Michael von Hausswolff
3 December 2016, 19:00
The film Electra,Texas 2008 is the last part of a trilogy by Carl Michael von Hausswolff and Thomas Nordanstad that started with Hashima, Japan, 2002 and Al Qasr, Bahriyah Oasis, Egypt 2005. Electra is a small, sleepy town with an almost deserted town center, surrounded by the remains of the once booming oil industries. Oil production is still the same as in the heydays, before the depression, when more than 5000 wells and pumpjacks going up and down could be seen in the fields. The film follows life as it goes goes on, with an awarness that resources will be running out soon.
Please note: The initially planned performance by Carl Michael von Hausswolff had to be cancelled for personal reasons.
The event is part of the exhibition program Mad Horizon by John Skoog and Emanuel Röhss.
