 For the autumn season, Index presents a solo exhibition by Swedish artist Beth Laurin. Since the 1960s, the artist has developed an impressive body of work including sculpture and objects, performance, drawing, sound, text, photography and video. The exhibition shows a selection of works which demonstrate the working methodology of the artist and highlight her importance in the Swedish art scene.

 Girls Like Us magazine launches its issue #10: Future at Index, featuring DJ collective DATE. Girls Like Us is an independent magazine turning the spotlight on an international community of artists, writers and activists more or less female. Through interviews, personal stories, essays and visuals Girls Like Us unfolds feminist strategies and legacies across disciplines. The brand new magazine will be for sale, as well as back issues and T-shirts.

 Susanne Kriemann in conversation with Henrik Andersson on her artist book Duskdust produced with Baltic Art Center, Gotland and Sternberg Press. Duskdust is an artist book and a series of monographs by Susanne Kriemann, which takes as its starting point the former industrial site of limestone mining at Furilden peninsula on the north-eastern coast of Gotland, Sweden’s largest island.

Index Residents Kickstart
Our school program, Index Residents, has officially begun for the 2017/18 season with eight schools from across Stockholm and neighboring municipalities. Our aim is to create a discursive platform for students and work long-term with teachers and their programs. This month, our learning team initiated projects with Fryshuset in Husby, St. Eriks gymnasium in Kungsholmen, and Internationella gymnasiet in Uppsala. Follow our blog here



 The Index Teen Advisory Board is an integral part of Index’ programming and learning initiatives. This year, we brought together a group of young people with different cultural backgrounds, languages and life experiences to reflect together on the role and potential of culture, and implement these ideas into the agenda of the organization.
