OVER is the joint title of the exhibition and a mobile application by artist Sidsel Meineche Hansen that explores automation in contemporary working conditions. Index presents a new interdisciplinary collaboration with climate-change scientists at the Bolin Centre for Climate Research at Stockholm University. Building connections between art and science, Index will present an off-site exhibition of New Zealand artist Janine Randerson’s video work Waiho, Retreat (2017). More |
In 2015 artist Larisa Crunțeanu auditions for ‘Forbidden Love’, a soap-opera reality show that presents cases of socially unacceptable romance. Index 19 presents a work-in-progress film screening of the resulting film, mixing original footage with interviews and new fictional sequences that continue to exhaust the original narrative. More |
Intwined between human and machine-like consciousness, this workshop explores sound, code and symbols as a way to create language. The Voice is the second workshop in the series directed towards humans 3-7 years old, in association with Sidsel Meineche Hansen’s exhibition. As part of the exhibition OVER, Sidsel Meineche Hansen developed a zine style reader called OVER ON UBER. The reader is a collection of articles and associated materials rotating around the app-based business Uber, including the controversies of recent times. The reading group will be a roundtable discussion and deciphering of the reader. More |
