Brandelius has created a variety of characters to address the structural absurdities of society and art over the years, but Miss Universe trumped them all. “The exhibition opened this weekend as part of a new festival, “September sessions”, an initiative by Marti Manen at Index and Emily Fahlén at Mint. Both are representatives of the small and medium-sized organizations and kunsthalls in Stockholm who, in my eyes, do the long-term heavy lifting in the task of maintaining quality and relevance in the city’s art life.”
