Film: Hanni Kamaly’s PASSAGES by Martina Sara D’Alessio

In parallel to their 2021 exhibition at Index, THE MIGHT THEY HAVE, artist Hanni Kamaly developed the series, Passages, which comprised guided walks through Stockholm. These performative walks were documented and compiled together with an artist interview into a short film by Index intern Martina Sara D’Alessio.

Passages has been produced by Index in collaboration with Stockholms Kvinnohistoriska (Stockholm Museum of Women’s History) as part of the initiative Utom Husen. The walks were structured around the specific sculptures, architecture, public spaces and histories that have manifested in Stockholm. The artist invited small groups to participate in demarcating what is visible but so often unseen in our common spaces.
