Following a year of focus on distribution and editorial thinking, Index is pleased to host a special release of C-print’s first printed magazine: The Future Watch Issue, edited and produced by C-print in collaboration with Konstfack’s BA2 in Graphic Design and Illustration course, led by Sara Kaaman and Emma Löfström.

The slow release takes place throughout the afternoon of Wed 26 May, 14:00-19:00 with conversations and activations of the issue. To participate in the release, it’s necessary to book a time slot. Please register you interest by emailing rsvp@indexfoundation.se

Conversations throughout the release will also be recorded and published as a future podcast.

C-print started out in 2013 as C-print Journal, an independent and non-commercial online magazine written in English for contemporary art. Over time it has evolved into a nomadic curatorial art platform for exhibitions and programming. Today it is run by a team of four, operating on a zero budget. At the core there is an objective to bridge gaps in the art scene and to overlap the local art scene with international art scenes, while celebrating artistic diversity. In this lies a push to create increasing space and visibility for emerging and BIPOC artists.

While the magazine part of C-print has remained online-based up until now, C-print recently teamed up this spring with a second-year BA class of sixteen students in Graphic Design & Illustration at Konstfack to produce what is C-print’s first magazine in print, a concept issue based on emerging artists and a future art scene on C-print’s radar: The Future Watch Issue. The publication’s design and illustrations have been defined by the students, with Sara Kaaman and Emma Löfström working together as creative mentors.

The students in Graphics Design & Illustration in BA2 at Konstfack are:
Ebba Alling, Linn Bredberg, Mikaela Cederholm, Edith Ekström, Olivia Ekelund, My Hasselgren, Iris Hautaniemi, Wilma Harju, Amanda Islam Gustafsson, Vanja Ivarsson, Joel Järvi, Julia Lundgren, Klara Nordin Stensö, Ella Walfridsson, Filip Winkler, Henry Åström.
On the cover: Shaon Chakraborty and Victoria Verseau. Image credit: Martin Brusewitz.

The 130 page magazine is published in a limited edition of 350 copies, with support from Lessebo Paper and the printing house TMG Stockholm. Index serves as the main and exclusive distribution partner of the magazine which will be available for sale upon release on site as well as afterwards in Index’ Bookshop.
