Workshop Cut/paste: Re-Printed Matter with RE

2 June 2022, 15:00–18:00

Find and bring something that is already printed – it may be a page from a book (text/image), a postcard, advertisement, fruit sticker, t-shirt print, album cover, a recipe, lexicon, collection of stamps etc… It can be the first thing that comes to mind, something related to your artistic practice or just a printed matter that draws your attention.

During the workshop, we will copy our brought material and then re-work it, collectively or alone. You can work with collage, drawing, writing, experiment with the photocopier or just leave it in its new setting. When the pages are made, we will put together our material and make a re-printed matter, an assemblage in the form of a zine. Each participant will get their own copy to bind with thread and needle.

All workshops are free of charge, but we kindly ask you to RSVP for this workshop so we can know how many participants to expect.

In the shape of a collective artist’s book, RE : collaborates with artists from different places to develop or reinterpret a work within the format of printed matter. The project was started in 2020 by artists Laurens Rohlfs and Mari Mattsson. RE has since published A Dialogue Between Myself and The Landscape (2021) and RE-ENCHANTMENT (2022).

Cut/paste is the graduation project of Isabelle Ribe, initiated as part of the International Master’s in Curating Art at Stockholm University.
