Mette Edvardsen: TIME HAS FALLEN ASLEEP IN THE AFTERNOON SUNSHINE
26 January–16 March 2019
Opening: 25 January 2019, 17:30–20:00
Starting from an idea in the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Mette Edvardsen (Norway) organises a group of people to become a performed library. Each person memorises an entire book that is “readed” to other people. The next step of the project has been to publish physical versions of the memorised books, with some mistakes and differences from the original ones.
The exhibition presents the process, the books and the temporality behind TIME HAS FALLEN ASLEEP IN THE AFTERNOON SUNSHINE becoming Index a meeting place around books, performativity and art. Mette Edvardsen will also perform at MDT in Stockholm during the period of time the ehxhibition is opened.
