Anna Boghiguian’s installation at Index, Woven Winds, maps the beginnings of the global markets that are now a defining structure of capitalism. As an expansion on the themes of international trade, Swedish historian and teacher Li Eriksdotter Andersson facilitates the exhibitions Open Workshop. Li will lead this workshop mapping the historical impacts of trade and free trade agreements, with a specific focus on the current political landscape of the EU, Brexit and America’s Trump era. Together the group will question and respond to ideas of the utopian possibilities for trade agreements, asking if there is such a thing as fair and free trade agreements that operate outside of neo-liberal structures.

Li Eriksdotter Andersson is a teacher and student of history. She has been engaged in the question of free trade at multiple levels during the last years: as a scholar, as an activist and as a consultant on the question of contemporary free trade agreements.
